p_img1The Bais Medrash of Rochester is famous for producing the highest quality of B’nei Torah around. The no-nonsense, no-distraction, full dedication to Torah study mentality of our Bais Medrash is unique and almost obsolete in today’s world. The isolation from the big city chatter and distraction certainly contributes to the existence of this wonderful Torah environment. The real key, however, is the Hanhala’s understanding of the nature of each of their talmidim. For the past 42 years, the Yeshiva has taken young, unrefined teenagers and turned them into sharply polished Talmudic scholars.

p_img11Though the shiurim are well known for their depth, sophistication and precision, it is the hanhala’s expertise in chinuch, to push each of its talmidim to find the true greatness within themselves, that has led to the Yeshiva’s great success. The deep love of Ameilus B’Torah and sterling character traits are the signature signs of a Rochester Talmid.

p_img12The Yeshiva is very fortunate to have its own Kollel. The Kollel is comprised of dedicated, young talmidei chachomim, most of whom have learned in our Bais Medrash for about six years. The Kollel learns three sedarim a day on the same campus as the Bais Medrash and High School. The very presence of this esteemed group in our midst certainly elevates the atmosphere of the Yeshiva. The true influence of the Kollel, however, goes way beyond that. The members of our Kollel regularly organize special learning programs for the High School bochurim and extend frequent invitations for Shabbos meals to help make our young talmidim feel at home.
